ヘッドホンのコードをこすったときに発生した音の録音を、実際その時に使用したヘッドホンを用いて再生している。引っ張ったり、はじいたり、こすったりして、まるで演奏するようにヘッドホンをこすった。こすっているあいだどんな音が鳴っているのか、自分で確かめられないまま、ほとんど盲目的にコードをこすっていた。それはなんとも奉仕的（=service）な行為であった。

ここでは、過去に録音されたその音が再現されていると同時に、ヘッドホン自身の製品としての性能にも依存しているという二重性をもって、新しい音としても現前されているのだ。

Description : The recorded sound, which was produced when I rubbed the headphones’ code, is being played through the headphones I actually used at the recording. I was rubbing, tugging and plucking the code, just like playing an instrument. I was rubbing it, almost blindly enough, without being able to make sure by myself what kind of sound it was producing. This was of a very ‘service’ish action. The sound recorded in the past was being reproduced here. And at the same time, with duality of relying on the headphones' performance as a ‘product’, it was emerging as a new sound.
